Access To Music (ATM) is a piano series with a threefold mission: 1) to challenge and expand social conscience; 2) to promote the names and works of today’s composers; and 3) to give pianists greater opportunity to perform these new works. The format of the ATM piano series is very specific - each concert includes a work by a local composer as well as a work by a composer from another city and state where a previous ATM concert has been performed. This round-robin format gives every composer a kind of double exposure. In addition, the concerts are repeated free of charge at local community care facilities in each city. ATM’s vision is to present classical and contemporary music to young and elderly alike in an expanded repertoire of locations. This gives music’s enormous power greater accessibility.
